Request:
We performed due diligence on the 52 solar and solar plus storage sites identified in our site search effort covering more than a dozen states in the Eastern US.
Process:
As we already had the KMZs, we began by analyzing the buildability of the sites including buildable area, plant layouts, and energy models to determine the optimal capacity of the project. Next, we reviewed potential project risks including permitting, community relations, and environmental. Finally, we evaluated interconnection to identify the point of interconnection (POI) options available for the project.
Outcome:
The reports provided an efficient way to share the preliminary feasibility analysis to multiple members of the client’s team. We identified several projects with potential risks due to land use permitting and buildability issues. As a result of our work, the client was able to narrow down the sites to a targeted shortlist to begin real estate outreach.
